Fodor's Review

These charming clapboard cottages sit clustered beneath tall pine trees across the road from Lake Tahoe and a little beach. Cozy, simple, and well cared for, they offer an inexpensive alternative to a motel. Most have patios, and some have fireplaces and kitchens. If the cottages are booked, ask about the well-run sister property, Tahoe Vista Lodge and Cabins, just up the road. The service at both is attentive.

Rustic Cottages Review

The name describes this location perfectly. The cabins are very rustic and are a true delight. Service was really wonderful and the proprietors are delightful. Good location and a nice beach across the highway.

Great Little Getaway!

I totally agree with the two reviews posted! This is a great place to just relax, unplug, and not do much but enjoy the pines and the lake. Don't forget that they do have BBQ's on most of the patios as well, and the horseshoe pit is right off the little park in back. One caveat, make sure to book a cottage towards the back if you can. The highway traffic during the day can be a little noisy. Other than that... perfect!

A Real Find

We stumbled upon this property accidentally a couple of years ago, and have gone back to vacation there four times since, both in summer and winter. If there is value to be found at Lake Tahoe, this is it: clean, authetically rustic cabins that are well cared for; polite, helpful staff who bend over backwards to make you feel at home; and great lodge where they serve breakfast, with homemade waffles, freshly baked muffins, juice, coffee, morning newspapers.

They also offer afternoon tea and lemonade, with fresh brownies and cookies, their very own video library for guests, a croquet set, and all the little knick-knacks in case you forgot something at home, such as toothbrushes, shaving cream, shampoo/conditioner and the like. Only thing missing is a phone- and why would anyone want a phone in paradise; besides, what are cell phones for anyway?
