Shore House

Fodor's Review:

Every room has a gas fireplace and featherbed at this lakefront B&B in Tahoe Vista. The lovingly tended, knotty-pine-paneled guest rooms beautifully, and simply, capture the woodsy spirit of Tahoe, but without overdoing the pinecone motif. All have private entrances and extra touches such as bathrobes, stereo CD players, down comforters, and rubber duckies in the bathtubs; many have great views of the water. There's also a private beach. Yes, it's pricey but at how many places can you sip morning coffee while gazing out at the mist rising off the lake? Pros: Waterfront honeymoon cottage, massage appointments available. Cons: Pricey (even off-season).
