Cottage Inn Review

Avoid the crowds by staying just south of town in one of these charming circa-1938 log cottages under the towering pines on the lake's west shore. Cute as a button, with knotty-pine paneling, rustic pine furniture, and a gas-flame stone fireplace, each unit is decorated in old-Tahoe style while embracing you with up-to-date comfort. If you're exceptionally tall, you may find some of the sloped ceilings in the upstairs rooms a bit low (ask for a downstairs room when you book). There's also a private beach and Wi-Fi in the lobby.

    Hotel Amenities

I stayed there with my partner last August during a three week tour of the west coast from Ireland. The location is superb but I found the staff to be quite unfriendly and at best perfunctory. Their booking conditions I felt were not suited to those who might need to change with some days notice or require some flexibility: Cancellation Policy - A fourteen day cancellation notice prior to your confirmed arrival date is required. One nights lodging will be charged without the proper notice. A $25 cancellation fee will be charged on all reservations. If you book multiple rooms there will be a $25 charge per room. If you shorten your reservation we'll consider that as a cancellation. Breakfast was greasy and unedible. Never again. We left the beautiful Meadowlark Inn in Calistoga to come here?
