Don't be put off by this restaurant's nondescript exterior. Inside there's a lovely, airy dining room with creamy yellow walls and white tablecloths—and some of the most delectable dishes you'll find in the Tahoe area. Enticing scents drift from the kitchen where the French Alsatian-born chef-owner personally prepares everything from puff pastry to meringues to homemade bread. Specialties include an Alsatian tarte flambé (similar to a pizza, topped with onion, bacon, and fromage blanc), garlicky escargot, and rack of lamb Provençale. On some evenings a fixed-price menu is available for $33.50 per person.
