Fodor's Expert Review Stargazing

Joshua Tree National Park Best Bet Fodor's Choice

Designated an International Dark Sky Park in 2017, Joshua Tree is a great spot for astrotourism, especially on new moon nights. The Milky Way can be seen, often with the naked eye, from June through September, and the Perseid meteor shower is a mid-August highlight. Rangers offer occasional stargazing programs as does the nearby Sky's the Limit Observatory ( www.skysthelimit29.org) on the Utah Trail.
