Fodor's Expert Review Casa Cody
175 S. Cahuilla Rd., Palm Springs, California, 92262, USA Fodor's Choice
Editor's Note: This property is currently undergoing renovations.
An historic 1920s bed-and-breakfast near the Palm Springs Art Museum, Casa Cody has a retro coolness that embodies an old west feel (the founder, Harriet Cody, was Buffalo Bill's cousin). The spacious studios and one- and two-bedroom suites hold Santa Fe–style rustic furnishings. The colorful rooms—with fireplaces and patios, most with kitchens—are in four buildings surrounding two small pools and courtyards landscaped with citrus trees and bougainvillea. In the zany but private adobe cottage, opera singer Lawrence Tibbett and his friend Charlie Chaplin entertained friends on a tiny stage in the dining room.

- easy walk to restaurants, hikes, museums
- relatively affordable rates for location
- some rooms come with fireplaces, patios, and/or kitchens
