Artist's Drive Review

This 9-mi, one-way route skirts the foothills of the Black Mountains and provides intimate views of the changing landscape. Once inside the palette, the huge expanses of the valley are replaced by the small-scale natural beauty of pigments created by volcanic deposits. It's a quiet, lonely drive, and shouldn't be rushed. Reach Artist's Palette by heading north off Badwater Road.

    A pretty peaceful drive

This is a nice easy drive, easy to locate and along the way to Badwater coming from Golden Canyon. There are a few hairpin turns, but in general it is so beautiful you are not traveling fast. There are plenty of places to pull over and take pictures, or walks.
