Train Travel in Death Valley and Mojave

Amtrak makes stops in Victorville, Barstow, and Needles, but the stations are not staffed and do not have phone numbers, so you'll have to purchase your tickets in advance and handle your own baggage. You can travel west to connect with the Coast Starlight in Los Angeles or the San Diegan in Fullerton. The Southwest Chief stops twice a day at the above cities on its route from Los Angeles to Chicago and back. The Barstow station is served daily by Amtrak California motor coaches that travel between San Joaquin, Bakersfield, and Las Vegas.
