Built in 1927, this adobe-brick-and-stone lodge is nestled in one of the park's greenest oases. A warm mineral stream gurgles across the property, and its 85°F waters feed into a swimming pool. The rooms are decorated in earth tones, with old-style furnishings. The top-notch Furnace Creek Inn Dining Room ($$$) serves desert-theme dishes such as rattlesnake empanadas and crispy cactus, as well as less exotic fare such as cumin-lime shrimp, lamb, and New York strip steak. Afternoon tea has been a tradition since 1927.

My wife and I both really enjoyed ourselves at the Furnace Creek Inn. Very relaxing and the pool was perfect for unwinding. Overall you have to temper your expectations for this place when you consider the nightly rate. Also, the Inn restaurant is the best option but don't expect it to be a culinary delight. The other options (Wrangler's Steakhouse) is decent and the 49 Cafe will do but again you should not expect too much.
All in all I'd recommend the place to family and friends and return ourselves. It's just hard to get past Ritz Carleton rates for a substandard facility.
