Channel Islands National Park Restaurants
Channel Islands National Park Restaurant Reviews
Out on the islands, you won't have any trouble deciding where to dine—there are no restaurants, no snack bars, and in some cases, no potable water. Pack a fancy picnic or a simple sandwich—and don't forget it in your car or hotel room unless you want to starve. For a quick meal before or after your island trip, each of the harbors has a number of decent eateries nearby.
Back on the mainland, though, it's a dining gold mine. Santa Barbara has a longstanding reputation for culinary excellence, and a "foodie" renaissance in recent years has transformed Ventura into a dining destination—with dozens of new restaurants touting nouvelle cuisine made with organic produce and meats. Fresh seafood is a standout, whether it's prepared simply in wharf-side hangouts or incorporated into sophisticated bistro menus. Dining attire is generally casual, though slightly dressy casual wear is the custom at pricier restaurants.
