Arrowood Vineyards & Winery is neither as old nor as famous as some of its neighbors, but wine makers and critics are quite familiar with the wines produced here by Richard Arrowood, especially the chardonnays, cabernet sauvignons, and syrahs. A wraparound porch with wicker chairs invites you to linger outside the tasting room, built to resemble a New England farmhouse. A stone fireplace in the tasting room makes this an especially enticing destination in winter.

Cost: Tasting $5-$10, tour $20-$30, includes tasting
