Ravenswood

Fodor's Review:

Ravenswood, dug into the mountains like a bunker, has a punchy three-word mission statement: "no wimpy wines." They generally succeed, especially with their signature big, bold zinfandels, which are sometimes blended with petit syrah, carignane, or other varietals. Be sure to taste their merlot, too. Tours include barrel tastings of wines in progress in the cellar.

  • Cost: Tasting $8-$15, tour $10
  • Open: Daily 10-5; tour at 10:30
