Sterling Vineyards

Fodor's Review:

The approach to Sterling Vineyards is the most spectacular in the valley. Instead of driving up to their tasting room, you board an aerial tramway to reach the pristine, white, Mediterranean-style buildings perched on a hilltop about a mile south of Calistoga. The views from the winery are superb, although the quality of the wines doesn't necessarily match the vista.

  • Cost: $15, $20 weekends and holidays, including tramway, self-guided tour, and tasting
  • Open: Daily 10:30-4:30
