Perched on a hill overlooking the valley, Rutherford Hill Winery is a merlot lover's paradise in a cabernet sauvignon world. Although other vintners rack up high-profile cult cabernets, Rutherford Hill Winery quietly goes about producing some of Napa's best merlot, in addition to a smattering of other varietals. Tours of the extensive caves can be followed by a picnic in oak, olive, or madrone orchards.
