On a quiet side street a few blocks from the town center, this sunny little establishment has a long history as a getaway. It was built as an inn in 1916, and the rooms, each individually decorated, tend toward a simple country style. Many have four-poster beds and touches such as a wood-burning stove or antique oak dresser; some have whirlpool tubs. All have puffy down comforters. Breakfast is served in front of the common room's cobblestone fireplace, as are cookies or other snacks in the afternoon. Innkeeper Kristi Hallamore Jeppesen has two children of her own, so this is an unusually kid-friendly inn.
