Husband-and-wife team John Stewart and Duskie Estes serve what they call "slow food … fast." Though you might pop into this casual café at the back of Copperfield's Books for half an hour, the staff will have spent hours curing the meats that star in the menu of salads, pizzas, pastas, and sandwiches. For instance, the Salumist's Salad mixes a variety of cured meats with greens, white beans, and a tangy vinaigrette; and a thin-crust pizza might come topped with house-made Italian pork sausage and roasted peppers. House-made gelato served with a dark chocolate sauce or zeppole (Italian donuts) are a simply perfect ending to a meal. Their closing hours sometimes vary according to the season and what's taking place on Healdsburg's plaza, so call ahead if you're planning an evening visit.
