Fans of pinot noir will surely want to stop at Hartford Family Winery, a surprisingly opulent winery off a meandering country road in Forestville. Here grapes from the coolest areas of the Russian River Valley, Sonoma coast, and other regions are turned into chardonnays, old-vine zinfandels, and single-vineyard pinots, the latter with unusual aging potential.
