Luna Vineyards

Fodor's Review:

Luna Vineyards, the southernmost winery on the Silverado Trail, was established in 1995 by veterans of the Napa wine industry intent on making less-conventional wines, particularly Italian varieties. (Their whites are styled after those from Fruili, the reds after those from Tuscany.) A spacious tasting room with high ceilings, warmed by an enormous fireplace in cool weather, is a lovely spot for tasting their pinot grigio, merlot, sangiovese, and a late-harvest dessert wine of sémillon and sauvignon blanc called Mille Baci ("a thousand kisses" in Italian).

  • Cost: Tasting $5-$15, tour $5-$15
  • Open: Daily 10-5; tour by appointment
