Giving Canyon Ranch a run for its money, this New Age health spa 30 mi north of Tucson has a secluded desert setting and beautiful Southwestern rooms. Most of the spa services and wellness programs, based primarily on Eastern philosophies, help you get in touch with your inner self. Whether you prefer to be pampered with a hot stone massage or seaweed body mask, partake in fitness and nature activities, or just do yoga, it's all here. All gratuities and meals, including tasty buffets (with calories and fat content noted), are included.

Life Changing

I stayed at Miraval for 4 days and it was truly life changing. The equine experience is an absolute must. I also highly recommend the aqua zen treatment. Miraval is not your average spa experience, it is for someone who is looking for more than just being pampered. It's pampering for your soul. An excellent place to recharge your batteries, learn how to experience life "mindfully" or live life in the present, and learn a different way of living.RATING: 4.6
pricey but imperfect

surroundings are great and views are, too. but then the problems begin. one can sense that many employees are not happy. the tipping is a real problem as the employees don't seem to get the tips that are put on top of the bill according to their attitude. a lot of turnaround, one week one gets a massage with this therapist, next week she is gone. i prefer the red dood spa at the westin la paloma, employees are cheerful, services are great.RATING: 2.6
