Tohono Chul Park

Fodor's Review:

A 48-acre retreat designed to promote the conservation of arid regions, Tohono Chul—the name means "desert corner" in the language of the Tohono O'odham—uses a demonstration garden, greenhouse, and geology wall to explain this unique desert area. Shady nooks, nature trails, a small art gallery, a great gift shop, and a tearoom can all be found at this peaceful spot.

  • Cost: $7
  • Open: Park daily 8 AM-sunset; buildings daily 9-5
