Fodor's Review

Few bed-and-breakfasts deliver the historic charm, elegance, and pampering of this mid-century Southwestern estate, the former retreat of cosmetics mogul Merle Norman. In the main lodge, Ranch House Inn, four luxurious guest rooms and spacious common areas with original flagstone floors and beamed ceilings have been expertly restored. Neighboring Arroyo House Inn has four new and equally well-appointed guestrooms. You can get a massage, play boccie ball, or just soak up the sun and mountain views from chaise longues on the wraparound porch or alongside the gorgeous saltwater pool. The serene grounds also include desert gardens, a meditation labyrinth, and a yoga studio.
