Catalina Foothills

Considered by some to be the "Beverly Hills of Tucson," the Catalina Foothills area is home to posh resorts and upscale shopping. Because the neighborhood backs on the beautiful Santa Catalina mountains, it also has an abundance of hiking trails. If you want to venture farther into the mountains, head up to Mount Lemmon: it's time consuming (a one-hour drive each way), but the higher elevation and cooler temperatures make it an excellent midday destination in summer.
