Fodor's Review:

For a tasty dinner, try this casual, high-volume spot. The rotisserie chicken is wonderfully moist and meaty; you'll see the birds spinning in the window before you even walk through the door. Salads, fresh fish, prime rib, and meat loaf are also on the menu. The mashed potatoes and grilled artichoke are divine. If you get here during prime eating hours, especially on weekends, be prepared to wait.

We have had dinner here several times and have never been disappointed in the food, service and price. We have frequently taken home fantastic left-over lunches for the next day. Food is cooked to order, Mojitos are exceptional. Lamb is cooked to order and out of this world. Service is wonderful, ever present but not overbearing. The only downside is having to wait for the entire party. We could be drinking and snacking in comfort.

Imagine my surprise seeing a Bandera in downtown Scottsdale, one of my favorite restaurants in Sacramento!
However, I waited over 2 hours for a table, which the hostesses quoted 1/2 hour, AND whom seated some "walk in" couples ahead of my girlfriend and I. The bartender erroneously charged drinks to my bill, which I had to wait over an hour to be corrected by a manager. Although this place is busy, it appears poorly managed, especially by the young, overly made-up, bottle-blonde and unsophisticated women at the hostess desk.

If your taste runs towards sameness, then Bandera is a good choice. If you want to try something local there are dozens of restaurants in the Scottsdale area that are a better choice. The food is fine, the service is fine, the atmosphere is fine, it's just the same as dozens of other chain restaurants.

Whenever I come to town, I always make it a point to eat at Bandera's. The Prime Rib is excellent (ask for the end cut) and the corn bread is the best. The wait staff works very well together and the service is consistently great. The only downside is that things can get a bit pricey, but considering the quality of the food, ambiance and service, it's definately worth it! I Highly recommend this place!
