In the ebb and flow of central Phoenix, Zen 32 has managed to stay afloat while just about every other sushi restaurant has sunk—the convenient location, casually chic atmosphere, and consistently creative rolls make it easy to understand why. The soft-shell crab, rainbow, and caterpillar rolls, and the succulent citrus yellowtail are favorites from the sushi menu while the grill produces plenty of tasty nonfish fare. The covered patio faces the zoom and vroom of 32nd Street, but the soothing mist and meditation music create a tranquil, yes, even Zen-like atmosphere.
