The Buttes Marriott Resort

  • Price range: $-$$$
  • Location: Tempe

Fodor's Review:

Two miles east of Sky Harbor airport, nestled in desert buttes at I-10 and AZ 60, this hotel joins dramatic architecture (the lobby's back wall is the volcanic rock itself) and classic Southwest design (pine and saguaro-rib furniture, works by major regional artists) with stunning Valley views. Recently purchased by Marriott, the Buttes is set to become a top relaxation destination with its "Revive"-themed spa facility. "Radial" rooms are the largest; inside rooms face the huge free-form pools with waterfall, hot tubs, and a poolside cantina. The Top of the Rock restaurant is elegant. Kids enjoy summer activities such as Saturday "duck hunts" and cooking with the resort chefs.
