$$-$$$$, Scottsdale
Fodor's Review:
One of Scottsdale's newest hotels is actually one of its oldest. Originally opened in 1956, it was a hangout for celebrities including Natalie Wood, Robert Wagner, and Tony Curtis. After a long stint as a Ramada, the hotel was purchased in 2001 and restored to its former '50s fabulousness -- complete with Trader Vic's ($$-$$$), the hotel's original restaurant. A large pool is at the heart of this Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired hotel, surrounded by a two-story, U-shaped building of guest rooms, lush landscaping, and an outdoor grill and dining area. A 6,000-square-foot spa, a fitness center, and 10,000 square feet of meeting space have been added.
