Fodor's Review

In a town where luxurious, expensive resorts are the rule, the Phoenician still stands apart, primarily in the realm of service. The gilded, marbled lobby with towering fountains is the backdrop for a $25 million fine-art collection. Despite the opulence, the resort is remarkably comfortable and accommodating—especially for children. There's a secluded tennis garden and 27 holes of premier golf, and everywhere you look, there's a pool. The Centre for Well Being spa has

a meditation atrium and a pool lined with mother-of-pearl tiles, where you can drift off to another world. Afterward, you can take in a sophisticated afternoon tea or dinner at J&G Steakhouse.
