Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tempe Restaurants

Durant's

Durant's Review

Durant's has endured since 1950 in the same location with the same menu and waiters who've been on staff almost as long, making it one of Phoenix's legendary eating establishments. Supreme steaks, chops, and fresh seafood, including Florida stone crab and oysters Rockefeller, dominate here; when the restaurant once tried to update its menu, regulars protested so furiously the idea was shelved. Durant's is not à la carte, like many Valley steak houses, which means their entrée prices include soup or salad and a side dish. Those in the know enter through the kitchen door and frequent the Rat Pack-style bar for jumbo martinis fit for ol' Blue Eyes himself.

Velvet wallpaper, banquets big enough to seat the extended family, wine pours beyond generous, and glorious red meat available in an array of portion sizes... what's not to love. Fun experience; great for impressing the in-laws or for work. Will always visit when in Phoenix.
