Tuba City

Tuba City, believed to be named after a Hopi chief "Tsuve," has about 8,200 permanent residents and is the administrative center for the western portion of the Navajo Nation. In addition to a hotel, hostel, and a few restaurants, this small town has a hospital, a bank, a trading post, and a movie theater. In late October Tuba City hosts the Western Navajo Fair, a celebration combining traditional Navajo song and dance with a parade, pageant, and countless arts-and-crafts exhibits.
