A number of festivals and events take place among the Navajo and Hopi communities.

The Navajo Nation Annual Tribal Fair takes place the first weekend of September after Labor Day, at Window Rock. It's the world's largest Native American fair and includes a rodeo, traditional Navajo music and dances, food booths, and an intertribal powwow.

The Hopi Harvest Festival, in August and September, is a celebration featuring Harvest and Butterfly social dances.

The Central Navajo Fair is in late August, in Chinle.
