Fodor's Review

Kick up some Route 66 nostalgia at this old-fashioned soda fountain, bar, and kitschy gift shop built in 1926. Dine on burgers and hot dogs, a famous Twisters sundae (topped with raspberry sauce, nuts, and hot fudge), Route 66 beer float, or cherry phosphate—all to the sounds of '50s tunes. The kids' menu features cartoon characters and a selection of corn dogs, hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken strips, and peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches. The gift shop is a blast from the past, with Route 66 tchotchkes, classic Coca-Cola memorabilia, and fanciful items celebrating the careers of Betty Boop, James Dean, Elvis, and Marilyn Monroe. If you're thirsty, the attached bar has 20 beers on tap.
