Getting Here and Around: North Rim
Park services on the more remote North Rim shut down in winter and following the first major snowfall (usually around mid-November); Highway 67 south of Jacob Lake is closed. The nearest airport to the North Rim is St. George Municipal Airport (435/634-5822 www.sgcity.org/airport) in Utah, 164 mi north, with regular service provided by both Delta and United Airlines.
From mid-May to mid-October, the Trans Canyon Shuttle (928/638-2820 www.trans-canyonshuttle.com) travels daily between the South and North rims—the ride takes 4½ hours each way. One-way fare is $80, round-trip $150. Reservations are required.
