This Arizona Strip lodge opened in 1929 on the same day the Navajo Bridge was dedicated. Three types of accommodations are available: rooms in the original building, standard motel rooms in the newer building, and two-bedroom apartments. You can play the 1920s piano or sit on the porch swing of the native-rock lodge and look out on Vermilion Cliffs and the desert. Zane Grey and Gary Cooper are among well-known past guests. The restaurant serves steaks, pasta, and sandwiches ($-$$$$). There is an airstrip here, too.
