Twisters

Twisters Review

Kick up some Route 66 nostalgia at this old-fashioned soda fountain and kitschy gift shop. Dine on burgers and hot dogs, a famous Twisters sundae (topped with raspberry sauce, nuts, and hot fudge), Route 66 beer float, or cherry phosphate—all to the sounds of '50s tunes. The kids' menu features cartoon characters and a selection of corn dogs, hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken strips, and peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches. The adjoining gift shop is a blast from the past, with Route 66 tchotchkes, classic Coca-Cola memorabilia, and fanciful items celebrating the careers of Betty Boop, James Dean, Elvis, and Marilyn Monroe.

During our family trip to the Grand Canyon, we stopped in Williams at the coolest place, Twisters. The ice cream treats were great. Probably the best burger I have had in ten years. Their gift shop offered lots of neat Route 66 souvineers at a way better price than others. A must see in Williams.
