This motel with comfortable, simple rooms has all the modern amenities you'd expect at a typical mid-price chain hotel. For $11 more, you can get a room with a partial view of the canyon. Rooms have either two queen beds or one king. Some rooms have evaporative coolers (they're very effective) instead of air-conditioning.

(stayed in AUG.03) I didn't mind the outside look of the motel. We checked in the bright angel lodge next door which had a gorgeous lobby. The staff was very nice and helpfull. The room was on the second floor as i requested upon booking. We had a view on the canyon. It wasn't a deep view but it was very enjoyable. I waked up early moring and checked through the window if it was a good time to get out for the sunset. The room was so-so. It was large,
the bathroom was clean. The chairs were stained, but not too much. The bed sheets had a hole in it and the AC was very noisy. We paid $130 (tax included) for the room, anywhere else I wouldn't have appreciate it, but there, we didn't mind. It was just too convenient and If I should return I would use it again.

My wife and I stayed in the Thunderbird Lodge and we were satisfied with the accommodations. It had a great view of the canyon and was convenient to everything. The room was nothing special but as they say, location is everything.
