Fodor's Review

James Stinson, the first rancher in the valley, was the original resident of this small adobe home that once served as a schoolhouse. William J. Flake bought out Stinson's holdings and founded the town of Snowflake. Flake added on to the structure, which today is a museum containing pioneer memorabilia, quilts, Native American artifacts, and a small gift shop.
