Holbrook

Holbrook, the largest town close to Petrified Forest National Park, is a monument to Route 66 kitsch. The famous "Mother Road" traveled through the center of Holbrook before Interstate 40 replaced it as the area’s major east–west artery, and remnants of the "good ol' days" can be found all over town. It’s probably not worth staying overnight in Holbrook, although the town’s iconic Wigwam Motel is a quirky and iconic option if you do find yourself here.
