Aniakchak National Monument and Preserve
Getting Here and Around
Aniakchak National Monument and Preserve is expensive to reach, even by remote Alaska standards. The only easy access is by air, usually from the town of King Salmon. Thus, few people visit this spectacular place—and those who do are likely to have the caldera all to themselves. Needless to say, come here and you get permanent bragging rights about what you did on your Alaska vacation.
