A favorite with hard-to-please locals, Captain Pattie's offers a wide array of fresh local seafood, along with beachfront views of Kachemak Bay. The appetizer menu alone is worth the wait, which can be considerable during the summer rush. The clam chowder is excellent, and the staff is friendly and efficient. There's a good wine selection, and local beer on tap. If you get lucky on your fishing excursion, the restaurant will cook your catch to your liking. Try the great desserts, too.

We had a wonderful meal here of all you can eat shrimp. It was the best shrimp I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, juicy, crisp and succulent. We liked the place so much, we went back for another meal. This time we had the halibut. Again, the food was cooked to perfection. There was a hollandaise sauce that accompanied the halibut. The sauce was lightly buttery and lemony. It did not overpower the fish. Prices are fairly reasonable for what you
get. Maybe a bit high but compared to other places in Homer that charge as much if not more, the food is far superior here.
