Cordova Museum

Fodor's Review:

The Cordova Museum emphasizes the unique Cordova community history through native, pioneer, mining, and fishing artifacts and stories. Exhibits tell of early explorers to the area, native culture, the Copper River and Northwestern Railway/Kennicott Mine era, and the growth of the commercial fishing industry. An informative brochure outlines a self-guided walking tour of the town's historic buildings. Evening programs and regional art exhibits such as "Fish Follies" and "Bird Flew" are sponsored by the Historical Society. The gift shop features a selection of local postcards, Cordova and Alaskan gifts, and local history books.
