Gustavus Inn

Mile 1, Gustavus Rd., Gustavus, Alaska, 99826, USA

Built in 1928 and established as a hotel in 1965, this inn continues a tradition of gracious rural living. In the remodeled original homestead building, rooms are decorated in New England–farmhouse style. Outside, a large vegetable garden provides much of the dining room's food. Here you can indulge in Glacier Bay sightseeing trips, fishing expeditions, bicycle rides, and berry picking in season. There are a guest shuttle to the airport, activities, and Glacier Bay National Park. Guests can use the satellite TV and a telephone in the common area. The hosts heap bountiful servings of seafood on the plates of overnight guests (all meals are included in the lodging price) and others who make reservations for family-style meals in the cozy dining room. The hosts recently expanded it to reveal views of the Icy Strait and the Salmon River meadows. Dinner is served at 6:30 sharp.
