By Train in Inside Passage

Southeast Alaska's only railroad, the White Pass & Yukon Route, operates several different tours between Skagway and Carcross, Yukon. The tracks follow the historic path over the White Pass summit—a mountain-climbing, cliff-hanging route of as far as 67½ mi each way. Shorter trips to the summit or Fraser and back are available, and bus connections are available at Fraser to Whitehorse, Yukon. This route is far and away a tourist activity, though, and is rarely used for nonrecreational transportation.
