Built of spruce logs, this inn sits on a 97-acre property facing Icy Strait. Soaring ceilings open up the lobby, where a central fireplace and moose-antler chandeliers invite relaxation. Spacious guest rooms are luxuriously furnished, and a full-service restaurant (open to the public for dinner) specializes in seafood but also serves steak, pork chops, and wild game. The Bear Track doesn't cater to the light-walleted set: room rates start at $495 per person per night; the price includes meals and air transport from Juneau. (There are better deals for multiple-night packages.)
