Along the shore of Frederick Sound, 2 mi north of Petersburg, this two-bedroom, family-run guesthouse offers one creek- and one beachside room. The entire property is rented as a vacation rental for three or more nights. Seals, eagles, deer, and whales are often seen just outside the door. The small library is stocked with books on Alaska and natural history. Take advantage of the owners' Kaleidoscope Cruises—lodging-cruise packages are available—or borrow bikes to explore on your own.
