Perched along Clover Passage next to a beautiful waterfall, this high-end resort is near the end of the road, 17 mi north of Ketchikan. Guests tend to appreciate the variety of deals, starting with a three-night package that includes two days of fishing, guide, cabin cruiser, and all meals for $1,550 per person. The huge, octagonal restaurant is worth the half-hour drive from town, even for nonguests. Specialties include steaks and Alaska seafood, including blackened salmon or halibut. The restaurant is built of pine logs and, in the center, a 40-foot section of pipe—originally manufactured for the Alaska pipeline—rises to support the roof. Big windows overlook the waters of Clover Passage.
