Completed in 1912, this stately colonial-style home overlooks downtown Juneau. With 14,400 square feet, six bedrooms, and 10 bathrooms, it's no miner's cabin. Out front is a totem pole that tells three tales: the history of man, the cause of ocean tides, and the origin of Alaska's ubiquitous mosquitoes. Alaska's first female governor, Sarah Palin, lives here with her husband ("First Dude" Todd Palin) and their children. Tours of the residence are, unfortunately, not permitted.
