Six Forest Service-maintained campgrounds are scattered around Tongass National Forest and are accessible from Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan, Hollis, and Klawock. All have pit toilets and sites for RVs and tents, but not all provide drinking water. Reservations are possible for some of these campgrounds, but space is generally available without a reservation.
