Yukon–Charley Rivers National Preserve

A dream landscape for adventurers who crave solitude, the preserve sits on the border of Canada and Alaska. The only ways in are by driving long gravel roads or taking a float trip or charter flight. Once here, miles of camping, hiking, canoeing, and fishing a-plenty await—often with no one else in sight for days. Those who prefer their solitude dressed up with snow should schedule a winter mushing or snowmachining trip.

Novices should refrain from exploring the preserve solo; consider hiring a guide familiar with the area or have an experienced outdoors person accompany you.
