Fodor's Review:

These cabins in the community of Kantishna at the end of the park road have private baths and individual climate controls, a rarity in such remote parts. Meals and predinner social hours occur in the main lodge building, which has a sitting area and small library in addition to kitchen and dining room. There is also a day lodge for day-trippers who travel to Kantishna, where they have a meal and rest break before returning to the park's entrance. Activities for overnight guests include naturalist programs; hiking; fishing; gold panning; mountain biking; and, for an extra fee, flightseeing when weather permits. Family-style meals emphasizing Alaskan fare are included in the room rate. Access to the lodge by private bus along the park road is the same system used by Camp Denali, and it takes a good part of a day to travel either way; the bus driver typically presents natural-history information. Staying for at least two nights is necessary if you want to participate in any activities. As at Camp Denali, DBL brings in writers, photographers, naturalists, and historians, to give talks and slide shows to its guests.
