Historic Alaskan photos, stuffed animals, and memorabilia adorn this old family favorite, just south of city center toward the airport. Lunch and dinners are available—including an all-you-can-eat beef barbecue for $17—but the restaurant is best known for its old-fashioned breakfasts, available all day. Try the sourdough pancakes, reindeer sausage and eggs, or crab omelets. Portions are very generous—a serving of fries alone can feed a small family. Start the morning with Anchorage's best Bloody Mary.

Lunch was the pits-poor service, mediocre food, noisy atmosphere and unfriendly service. Don't bother.

Tried both breakfast & lunch here. I think you could feed a family of four on their typical size portions. The food was quite good, but not great. If you are a big eater, this place can't be beat.

I used to like this place but not anymore. It is dirty, food is nasty and once when I was there we sat a rat running around. Other tables around us saw the same thing and 1/2 the restaurant left! NO JOKE! IT was NASTY!!!

I know many people who love this place, it's true. I have eaten here at least 4 or 5 times. It's been okay, no major complaints, and the atmosphere is a bit unique. What I haven't been able to figure out though is why so many people seem to love this place. Although it's certainly an okay place, it's far from fabulous. Food that's easy to prepare at home. Nothing spectacular. To each his own I suppose. I do admire they've been in business so long, many restaurants don't last. They are obviously doing something right.
